Most surely the first house appointed for men is the one at Bekka, blessed and a guidance for the nations. In it are clear signs, the standing place of Ibrahim, and whoever enters it shall be secure, and pilgrimage to the House is incumbent upon men for the sake of Allah, (upon) every one who is able to undertake the journey to it; and whoever disbelieves, then surely Allah is Self-sufficient, above any need of the worlds. 3:96-97
Hajj: An Ascending Journey Towards Allah SWT
Hajj, the pilgrimage to Mecca, is an obligatory journey, given certain conditions, for every Muslim. This journey is full of rich rituals, stages, passages, stations, stays and rests, symbolizing and embodying several layers of meaning and experience meant to transform and transcend the pilgrim. To familiarize those who are about to undertake this profound spiritual journey and other interested individuals with a more spiritual and existential aspects of Hajj, we will have two lectures, discussing and explaining the Irfanic meanings of rituals of Hajj.
Insha’Allah, it will help us to know what changes and transformations we should expect to happen within us upon passing through each stage of this journey and how we should feel and be once we complete the journey. Many past pilgrims wish they had known more about Hajj before undertaking the journey. Since for many it is a once-in-life opportunity, we strongly suggest that those who intend to positively respond to God’s invitation to Hajj, attend this seminar - for they may not be able to benefit from these insights on Hajj later.
